Lisa Ferrando
George Eliot wrote "It's never too late to be what you might have been". Lisa (she/her) started practicing yoga a little later in life. She had been suffering with back pain for years until yoga was recommended as a way to heal it. Not only did yoga help with her back issues, but it also taught her how to live a fuller life. She hopes to pass along to others the wellness benefits of this thousands year old wisdom tradition.
Lisa earned her RYT-200 from Blue Lotus in 2009 and she plans to complete her RYT-300 from Blue Lotus in 2023. She has taught yoga, Pilates and water aerobics at the Alexander Y and at other gyms in Raleigh getting her AFAA certification in 1998 and her Pilates certification from PhysicalMind Institute in 2000. She had been a public school teacher with Wake County Public Schools and Exploris Elementary where she had taught PE, dance, yoga, ESL, first and third grade.
Lisa’s yoga classes provide space for the individual to explore and heal the body and heart, as well as, promote community. We practice together and share the tools that yoga offers to create a humanity that is open and responsive.
You can also find Lisa taking walks in nature with her husband, or digging in her garden, or binge watching another TV series with her cat Jordan on her lap or marveling at the hard work and creativity of her two children.
