In 2014, Danni’s great-grandmother was diagnosed with Dementia. She and her family quickly relocated her from their home town of Brooklyn, NY to Raleigh, NC. She spent the next two years devoted to caring for her until she peacefully passed away. During this time, Danni found solace in yoga. As a fitness professional she knew sharing the experience of yoga with others would be monumental, and decided to add the title “Yoga Instructor” to her resume.
She enrolled in the 200-hour yoga teacher training program at blue lotus. After three months of training, something happened. A shift. Danni found herself in a place of unconscious confusion and unhappiness with life. Yoga teacher training forced her to self-reflect in a way that made her uncomfortable. “I finally realized It was more than a downward facing dog, and chaturanga. There was a groundbreaking mental shift. It provided space for me to examine myself free of judgment, and new ways to explore the why’s & what’s of life, and work at continuously showing up my best self…..whatever that looked like that day” What started as a means for financial gain, had become a life changing moment that she couldn’t ignore or deny. Shortly after this realization, Danni left an 11-year career in banking. With absolutely no clue what the universe had in store for her, she began to pour herself into her passion, fitness.
Since earning her YT-200hr certification Danni has instructed for a number of studios, organizations, and frequently offers her talents (Krama Yoga) for great causes in the RDU area. She is currently working towards the YT-500hr. When asked the best advice she has received, “...remain a student”.
