Liz Hye

Liz (she/her) is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and an ACE Certified Wellness Coach. Liz grew up in the greater Philadelphia area before moving to Raleigh to attend NC State. After earning her degree in Nutrition Science, Liz continued her education at Duke for her Master’s Degree in Global Health. She has worked for several years managing clinical trials, and serving as the Wellness Coordinator at NC State. Currently, Liz oversees a clinical trial through the TEACCH Autism Program that hopes to prove the many physical and mental benefits of community-based movement programs for adults with intellectual disabilities.
After years of the pressures of diet culture and weight-class based competitive sports, Liz sought community among like-minded individuals and discovered Current Wellness. The welcoming, inclusive, and kind environment of the Current aligns with Liz’s belief that everyone deserves the space to try new things, connect with others, and just be yourself. Liz believes in the grounding, healing power of joyful movement in community. Kettlebell movements, dance, and swimming are some of Liz’s favorite ways to move.
When not at Current, Liz enjoys volunteering at the county animal shelter, fostering dogs, and working in her pollinator garden.
