Andrea (she/her) is a NASM certified personal trainer and group instructor. She was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. Andrea holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Science from the Winston-Salem State University and a Doctorate degree of Physical Therapy from Howard University.
Andrea believes that all bodies are good bodies. She trains and teaches from the perspective that movement should be inclusive, can be fun and healing. As a Black woman in a larger body, Andrea understands how daunting it can be to walk into fitness spaces and feel alone, judged or fearful to try certain moves. Andrea’s desire is that clients and all who take her classes feel welcomed, seen, heard and encouraged to discover their strength in their movement practice.
Over the last couple of years, Andrea has fallen in love with kettlebells. The kettlebell has been a tool that has allowed Andrea to explore strength training for healing trauma, for listening to her body and to get stronger. Andrea looks forward bringing her love for kettlebells to Current Wellness.
Andrea recently returned to Raleigh from Philadelphia, and when not at Current Wellness, you can find her going to the movies, trying new things and exploring the city.
