Reiki energy healing is a form of therapy. The laying or hovering of the hands over certain areas of the body allow for an exchange of energy that can unblock or release built-up or stagnant energy.
This energy healing technique promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety, and symptom relief to improve overall health and well-being through gentle touch or hovering of hands (there is no pressure, massage or manipulation involved.).
Reiki practitioners act as a conduit between you and the source of the universal life force energy. This energy flows through the practitioner’s hands to help improve the flow and balance of your energy to support healing - physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually and aid people in becoming energetically balanced.
Reiki treatments typically last about 50-55 minutes. During a session, you’ll lie on a massage table fully clothed, as your practitioner gently places their hands, palms down, on or just above your body in specific energy locations.
Reiki treatment should not be used as a substitute for the consultation of a physician or a psychotherapist.
Reiki complements other types of medical and therapeutic treatments, and it can increase the efficacy of other types of healing.
