Jae Green

Jae (she/they) is a third year law student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill who is primarily interested in social justice advocacy. A proud nonbinary person, Jae has a strong background in organizing and championing queer rights, particularly in her hometown of Charlotte. Before law school, Jae served as the chapter coordinator of PFLAG Charlotte, where she led workshops, presentations, and panels on LGBTQ+ justice. This work fostered a passion for personal storytelling, which continues to be her favorite advocacy tool.
While in law school, Jae has continued this work as president of the law school’s LGBTQ student organization, an intern for Equality North Carolina, a research assistant for UNC’s Center for Civil Rights, and an intern for Legal Aid of North Carolina. After law school, she hopes to pursue a career in student affairs or the nonprofit sector.
Outside of school and work, Jae can most often be found at Current Wellness dancing, doing yoga, working, or just hanging out. She also enjoys playing the clarinet in the Triangle Pride Band, building cities in SimCity, and taking long drives. Jae believes deeply that joy and rest are acts of resistance and loves practicing that resistance in community at the Current.
