Lauren Demberg

Yoga Teachers

Lauren’s (she/her) journey through yoga began in 2010 when a friend introduced yoga as a form of movement. Over time, the exploration of physical practice evolved into a deep appreciation for the energetic and emotional transformation that yoga brings. Wanting to better understand the magic happening within the subtle body, Lauren pursued her 200-hour teacher training, graduating from Republic of Yoga in October 2018. She later discovered a passion for slowing down the mind and body to cultivate stillness and restoration, leading her to earn a 20-hour certification in Restorative Yoga at Evolve Movement in September 2019. Through this work, she discovered the profound impact of rest and meditation and how they regulate the nervous system, support holistic healing, and enable moments of peace amongst life’s many distractions.

Lauren is also a Shamanic Reiki Master who integrates energy work into her yoga teachings, guiding experiences for deeper grounding and expansion within the body. She believes yoga is more than just asana (the physical poses) – it’s a journey of meaningful connection, self-acceptance, and empowerment. Her goal is to encourage inclusivity in the yoga world, ensuring all bodies (especially larger bodies) feel seen, celebrated, and supported in their practice. She is committed to making yoga accessible, offering variations and methods which honor everyone’s own unique experience. For Lauren, yoga is a lifestyle. It is not about fitting into a mold or touching your toes; it’s about embracing who you are in each moment and allowing yourself to take up space – on and off the mat.

Lauren currently teaches and holds workshops at studios throughout the Triangle area, including her favorites - Restore & Cello and the New Year’s Burning Bowl Ceremony. She also sees private clients for reiki sessions. When she’s not at the studio, you can find her meditating with her cats, spending time in nature, or watching horror movies.
