Lydia moved from Greenville NC in 2010 after graduating from East Carolina University with a Masters Degree in Social Work to pursue her career in Raleigh. To decrease job related stress and anxiety, she found movement and exercise to be the key. She strives to bring movement to all, meeting each person exactly where they are in life. Whether you’ve been a mover your whole life looking to amp up your movement routine or you’re recovering from injury or illness and want to feel better, Lydia has the expertise to get you moving towards your goals. Lydia is a Comprehensively Trained and Certified Pilates Instructor with Balanced Body through Evolve Movement in Raleigh. She has over 520 hours of training including Movement Principles, Mat 1 and 2, Reformer 1, 2 and 3, Trapeze/Cadillac/Tower, Chair, and Barrels. She is also trained and certified in CoreAlign 1, TRX and has her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification in Prana Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Carson Efird.
Lydia focuses on movement linked to breath, which she learned from her yoga practice and teacher training to be a skill to better connect her mind and body when moving on and off her mat. The focal point of each of her sessions is to give her students a full body workout that is a balance of strength and stretch. Her goal is to make you feel more connected to your body, believing and trusting in all it can do. Lydia is an enthusiastic, motivational and compassionate instructor with great attention to detail. She likes to provide a variety of cues and modifications in hopes to grab students’ attention and make them into their own best teacher of their movement practice.
Lydia is married and lives in Apex with her partner Brandon and their adopted daughter Leona and their two pups.
