
Postpartum Strength Series with Jenna Somich
It is not possible to know all the ways that pregnancy, birth, and postpartum will change us, but nonetheless it will (in all the beautiful and messy ways). Many times there is great focus on the birther and baby/babies in pregnancy and immediate postpartum, but then what? We are not done rebuilding and integrating our strength, stability, and identity after 6 weeks post-birth. We deserve more! That is why I created the Postpartum Strength Series. You see, I already know you are strong. I already know that you have pushed your mind, body, and spirit to places you never knew were possible. I already know that you give each day and night… and I already know that you deserve more time for you… just you. Whether you are 3 months or 3 years postpartum, I hope you will join me for this class centered around intentional movement. This class will serve as your connection (or reconnection) to movement and a solid foundation to move forward from, whatever your wishes, wants, and goals may be.
During each class we will start with a welcome and check in. We will then take some time to connect with our breath. Next, we will move through a series of movements that were designed to help the core and pelvic floor work as a strong, stable, and coordinated unit. We will then move through a warm-up to help prepare our body for the strength and movement flow components ahead. After we complete our strength and movement flow, we end with some down-regulation activities such as breath and gentle stretches or poses. The class is an open format where discussion is welcome for all. Additionally, I will present resources and ideas to consider centered around:
- Core and pelvic floor health and stability
- Functional and effective movements for postpartum and beyond
- Creating support systems
- Nutrition resources for postpartum and beyond
- Creating a mindset practice and pulling it into each day
- Supporting our children in their development

Classes will take place on Mondays from 4pm – 5:15pm and will run for 6 consecutive weeks from April 18th through May 23rd. All fitness experience levels are encouraged to join. Come ready to move, learn, and connect with others!

Considerations:
If immediate postpartum, clearance from a healthcare professional is needed.
This class is also appropriate for the prenatal time period.
