Current Conversations: Ditching Diet Culture
Join us for our next community conversation on “Ditching Diet Culture.” This will be a panel discussion moderated by Rasha Mohamed with featured panelists: Ericka Hines, Erin Valentine, and Cecilia Marquez. This line-up is full of academics and researchers who are committed to body liberation personally and/or professionally.
Why this topic?
Ditching diet culture is a relatively newer concept. Because of this, it can be difficult to find a community without diet talk. Oftentimes, talking about a new diet, how much weight you want to lose, and/or what foods you can’t eat are normal topics of conversation. Join us for a different conversation. One that explores dismantling diet culture and setting boundaries with friends and family who are still entrenched in dieting.
Who is this conversation for?
This is for you if you are actively ditching diets or interested in learning more about why an anti-diet approach is helpful. This conversation is all about being open to learning and being compassionate to yourself and others.
