Yoga for All Bodies
I am Curvy Yoga certified!
I have been practicing yoga for 7 years. I started in college and continue my practice today, where it's needed more than ever. I stopped teaching after college because I didn't feel comfortable teaching in other spaces, especially those where I didn't feel my body was represented.
Then came Current Wellness. Damn, Brit and Nathan do a spectacular job creating an inclusive, affirming community that promotes all aspects of wellness.
I was encouraged to pursue this certification and it is one of the highlights of this year. Not only did I learn more about my own body acceptance journey, but I feel honored to bring this knowledge to the Raleigh community. And the lessons I learned in Curvy Yoga are not just for larger bodied people. There are days everyone's body needs a little extra love and care, and sometimes that looks like taking a different option in your practice.
In my classes, my goal is for you to feel grounded, strong, supported, and widely capable with a sense of community. I look to spread the message of radical acceptance towards wellness and strength regardless of our differences. It is important to me to build and nourish a space where everyone is accepted for exactly who they are.
If you're moving at home alone or in the studio with others, I hope you move with intention and in honor of your body.
Curvy Yoga Series
Are you interested in trying yoga, but don’t think it's for you? Then our Curvy Yoga class series is designed just for you! A six-class series hosted at Current Wellness in Raleigh, NC, Curvy Yoga is a body affirming yoga centralized on creating a practice that is right for you and fostering self-kindness on and off the mat. Starting from the yoga basics, every class is full of options so you can figure out what works best for your body. This workshop series is great for everyone, and beginners are encouraged! No yoga experience is required.
Do you live outside of Raleigh? Don't worry, you can join online too!
